"On the cusp of breaking into the art scene, a series of unfortunate and bizarre events left Melissa and her children homeless. Instead of falling victim to hopelessness, Melissa embraced the experience as the gonzo-journalist and Lightworker she is. By sharing the journey to reclaim her lost footing, the reader is able to vividly embrace the private domain and emotional landscape of being homeless."

Look For It Soon...

I am in the process of writing this guidebook to assist readers on their spiritual journey.

The workbook utilizes art to encourage exploration of one's soul and spirit. It highlights diverse spiritual traditions and provides a guided art lesson and meditation to uncover the beauty of each one of us hiding just below our surface awareness.

It is a simple yet profound way to explore one's own conscious experience through the tools of art and creativity.  Taken from the hard-earned lessons that helped me walk out of the fire and into the LIGHT!

This book is the result of my life-long quest to BE, EXPERIENCE and LIVE better every day.

In 2017 I was able to publish my memoir, The Lightworker's Guide to Homelessness.

In this book, I take an honest and in-depth look at the questions:

  • in this land of plenty, how and why do people end up homeless?

  • what is homelessness really like?

and

  • what should we do about it?

After a series of unfortunate events left me nowhere to call home and nowhere to turn, I decided to dig deep and use myself and the experience as a lens and example others can learn from. My intention is to offer a Graceful and much needed perspective on why this is happening and what the average person can do about it.

The role of the Lightworker in today's world is to shed light in dark places, get to the root and truth of the issues and provide the motivation, honesty and inspiration we all need to make the necessary changes.

We may not always be able to control unexpected events in our life, but we can control how we react to them!

I take my job very seriously and you should too!!

It is written with the page turning grace of a novel and the pace of a reality show you can’t get enough of.

I squatted with the old-timers (grizzled alcoholics and vets that have made the streets their home for five or more years), young anarchists who left civilization behind living on a mountain, a group of Rainbow Family vagabonds surviving a failing commune, supremely talented artists whose quest for the American Dream has left them on the streets, and the fellow residents of the community homeless shelter where I was living when the majority of this book was written.  The reader follows my emotional journey out of homelessness.  It is not a slamdunk comeback story because surviving homelessness just isn’t that easy, but it is honest, raw and very real.

It is written to encourage a dialogue with the reader and asks them to question their own belief system and the effects of our individual choices on the collective evolution of humanity.

I believe this is a book that people need to read.  There absolutely needs to be more visibility brought to the forefront on the issues of homelessness.  I have used my personal observation and life experience to allow anyone with a heart to witness the truth about homelessness and the incredible uphill journey we face with honesty, passion and loads of humor.

America has been waiting for a story from the front lines of the spiritual and political revolution that is happening out there and this memoir is it!
